Working in the outdoors, or "plein air", is always an adventure. It forces one to work fast and respond to the landscape without overthinking it. It's a rare contemplative and immersive outdoor activity that produces a tangible artifact of it's own environs. And in this age of digital and AI imagery, standing around for 2 hours to paint the scene can feel like a luxuriously rebellious act against the mad machinery of our times.
