Introduced to stem erosion around the railroad tracks laid in the early 1900’s but quickly spread all over the coastal bluffs of California, iceplant lands just behind eucalyptus as one of my favorite invasive species. The colors from green to red create amazing displays for a painter, and since it’s invasive you don’t have to feel bad about tromping all over it. Just doing my part.
