Whether due to the winds, or the threat of rain, or even just the few feet of elevation gained, many of these paintings wouldn’t have been possible without a strategically parked van to paint from. It always feels a bit like cheating out there. All the comforts of the indoor studio, but with a variety of views no amount of money could buy.
