One thing you must know. This is not an art book. It’s a poetry book. Pure and simple.
After years of scribbling out occasional poems to accompany my paintings, I eventually discovered a love for the written word itself.
And after some strange recent years of wandering aimlessly through a mid-life and mid-career haze of uncertainty I felt maybe it was as good a time as any to finally release my first collection of stand-alone poetry.
Well, almost stand-alone anyway. These poems were not written to merely accompany my paintings, they were written simply because I felt the need to write them. So, rather than pair the poems with my artwork I chose to accompany them with photographic composite illustrations derived from the poems themselves.
Theme Parks contains seven collections of my original poems, organized around themes of language, time, place, family, love, self and the unexpected nearness of God.
