WEATHER PATTERNS
Put this one squarely in the list of good ideas that I never really followed up on. At all. But the idea was that before doing a live painting, I should look up the current wind patterns off the coast of wherever I was, and use that windmap as the only reference for the painting. Just follow those contours and flow with the music. In this case it was the local winds directly west of San Francisco, where I was painting on stage with Tom Curren, on top of a rug that used to belong to Jerry Garcia. This is the only time I’ve used this concept. Not sure why. Maybe I’ll pick it up again one day…
