PAINTED FROM A TINY BOAT
I have wondered about painting from the moon, or anywhere in space, and whenever I seriously consider the idea, I recall this excursion on a buddy’s tiny little fishing boat, moored off this little pier, attempting to paint while they fished and crawled around cracking beers and jokes and bobbed up and down and around on a gentle rolling ocean.
It was like trying to paint while exceedingly drunk, but without the confusion. Just like the drunk can’t touch his nose, I could not place a single stroke where I tried and it became a law-of-averages that prevailed and brought the painting through. I can’t even imagine what space would be like, but after this I reckon it might be pretty rough. I’m game though. If you’ve got a little fishing rocket and want to take an artist along while you cast your lines for spacefish- I’m your guy.
