After finishing this one I laid it carefully in the back of my van and drove home with that satisfied feeling having pulled of what I felt was a real nice one. I hit one little bump and the series of bangs and smacks and thuds in the back of the van reminded me that I had forgotten to secure my pack with all my painting gear. An easel got loose and like a trapped wild animal continues lashing out even after being freed from it’s cage, the easel attacked this painting with one fierce swipe, ripping a 3 inch hole right down the middle. Nuts.
Lesson learned:Wild easels do not belong in captivity.
