The concept behind this series was to reduce wave phenomena to their simplest form, the mathematical sine wave, and then extrapolate back up to various explorations of wave manifestations in nature, thereby to paint waves, just not necessarily waves in water. I had ideas to go much further with the series until I realized that waves in water were the only expression of wave phenomena in nature that scaled perfectly to the human body allowing us to play with one single wavelength at a time, to ride it, to be tumbled along by it, to drown beneath it. Just one is all it takes. All other waves are experienced collectively or lack the intense localized power to move us the way waves in water do. And with that realization I just went back to painting waves in water because they are the best. Ah well, it was fun while it lasted.
